Program: Stretched to the Limit
Carmen Richards was elected
president of Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in July
2005. She served as treasurer of the Women of the ELCA for three years,
and prior to that was a synodical treasurer for four years. During her
terms, she assisted with guidelines and forms to eliminate cluster
treasuries. She helped plan and budget the “Embracing Self and Others”
and “Paths to Wholeness” programs and a trip to Central African
Republic. She has also been involved in Synodical Advanced Leadership
Training (SALT) training and organized and hosted a booth at the Women’s
Showcase about Women of the ELCA (a first for a religious group).
She is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hope, N.D., where she has
served as organist, Sunday school teacher.
Carmen and her husband, Randy operate a farm in Hope, N.D., and have
three adult children; two daughters and one son. They are all married
and the three granddaughters and twin grandsons are a real joy in the
lives of their grandparents. |
