M. Alexandra George
leads an effort called The Zoom House; a community initiative, in the
Minneapolis/St Paul area, dedicated to removing barriers for working,
low-income families who are struggling to achieve economic
self-sufficiency. Housing is provided at an affordable rent for
working participants. The goal is for the participants to achieve and
retain living-wage employment. The program provides education, career
exploration and counseling, life skills training, and job skill
building.
