Loder
Program: Thankful Beyond Understanding
The
Rev. Dr. Theodore W. Loder was the senior pastor of First United
Methodist Church of Germantown in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for 38
years. Through those years this racially and ethnically diverse
metropolitan congregation maintained its membership of 1,000 members
under Pastor Loder’s leadership. In addition to Pastor Loder’s
commitment to a standard of excellence in preaching, creative liturgy
and music, communicating the gospel in innovative, relevant and
imaginative ways, and speaking and acting on critical issues of the city
nation and world, his involvement in justice and peace missions is an
accurate expression of what it means to love God and neighbor.
